Our Story

Smeatons smokehouse is a producer, retailer and wholesaler of the finest smoked cheeses meats and other fine foods available. Using family knowledge our artisan smokehouse makes the finest smoked produce using only traditional methods.

We are based in Plymouth, Britain's ocean city. Plymouth is a port city in Devon, southwest England. It’s known for its maritime heritage and historic Barbican district with narrow cobbled streets. In Plymouth The Mayflower Steps are where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for the New World in 1620.

As a company we have been running since 2015 but as a family we have been smoking for nearly 50 years. Alex, the father of a father son team here was a fisherman who loved smoking fish as a hobby which soon became other meats and more foods and we have been providing the people of Plymouth with smoked foods one way or another for many of years.

Our love for smoked foods is not something we thought should be kept from the people so we started Smeatons smoke house (named after Smeatons tower a lighthouse on the sea front), and have never looked back.

We sell our smoked foods in many.

We love independent retailers and we know you do too so that's why you'll find our products in many local farm shops and delicatessens in the southwest. If you aren't lucky enough to be near an outlet, you may also buy from this website with next day delivery on all UK orders made before 3pm Monday to Friday.

I spoke to the team about the products I ordered and they were more than helpful. Fantastic food and a service to match. Will Return.

The smoked cheese is an absolute treat. The smoked olive oil makes any food better and the olives just disappear too quickly. So moreish.
